Implementation and Validation of Multicast-Enabled Landmark Ad-hoc Routing (M-LANMAR) Protocol

چکیده
In this paper, we investigate the performance of M-LANMAR by implementing the protocol in Linux platform. With existing Linux implementation of ODMRP, we compare the performance of M-LANMAR to that of ODMRP. The two components constitute MLANMAR implementation: routing and packet forwarding. Because M-LANMAR requires packet manipulations (e.g., the source duplicates the packet and each landmark initiates the scoped flooding), along with routing daemon, user-level packet forwarding engine for data manipulation is indispensable. Furthermore, we verify our implementation by analyzing the result compared to the simulation result.

Multiple-Landmark Routing for Large Groups in Ad Hoc Networks
A typical scenario in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) consists of nodes having functional and motorial affinities (e.g., tanks in the same battalion). In order to achieve scalability for such a network having a large scale, we introduce, in this paper, a novel ”Multiple-Landmark” Ad Hoc Routing protocol (M-LANMAR). The protocol is an ”implicit”, flexible hierarchical routing scheme following the...
متن کاملScalable Team Multicast in Wireless Ad hoc Networks Exploiting Coordinated Motion
In this paper, we study a new multicast paradigm for large scale mobile ad hoc networks, namely team multicast. In team multicast the multicast group does not consist of individuals, rather, of member teams. For example a team may be a special task force that is part of a search and rescue operation. The message must be broadcast to each member of each team in the multicast group. Team multicas...
متن کاملLandmark routing for large ad hoc wireless networks
In this paper, we present an enhanced version of the routing protocol Landmark Ad Hoc Routing (LANMAR). LANMAR combines the features of Fisheye State Routing (FSR) and Landmark routing. The enhanced version features landmark election to cope with the dynamic and mobile environment. Other advantages of LANMAR include the use of landmarks for each logical group (e.g., a team of co-workers at a co...
متن کاملGeo-LANMAR: a scalable routing protocol for ad hoc networks with group motion
1 Summary Network scalability is one of the critical challenges and requirements in routing protocols for ad hoc networks. This paper presents a novel scalable routing protocol called Geo-LANMAR. The proposed protocol inherits the group motion support of Landmark Routing (LANMAR) and applies the geo-routing concept to deliver packets efficiently. In this framework, the integration between geo-c...
متن کاملDynamic group support in LANMAR routing ad hoc networks
In Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) mobile nodes are often organized in groups with different tasks and, correspondingly, different functional and operational characteristics. In particular, nodes in the same group will have coordinated motion. The coordinated motion pattern considerably simplifies the mobility management and allows efficient and scalable routing. Such a mobile network can easil...
